Captain America was pretty good.

There's a line in the movie that describes what the Super Soldier Serum does, besides enhance you physically. It also takes what's in your heart. If you're good, it makes you great, and if you're bad, it makes you very bad. Well in terms of this movie, it raised it from a pretty solid movie to pretty good movie.

All dorking aside though, the movie was entertaining. It was fun, goofy, sentimental, and had a great group of actors. Nobody hammed it up, nobody tried too hard or failed at their role. Everyone was surprisingly good. The plot was a bit odd, it had a very long origin, not nearly as long as Hulk, but Captain America didn't really show up until about 25-35 minutes into the movie. I'm fine with that, but I'm afraid others might complain since people hated Hulk due to it's meticulous buildup, something I personally loved.

As far as the plot, it goes like this, Nazis have a subdivision called Hydra led by an evil scientist hell bent on finding supernatural ways to win WW2 and eventually rule the world. He and another top German scientist developed a serum that could enhance a soldiers body to peak performance. Well, evil scientist A opts to be the first patient and it proves to be a bit unstable and transforms him. While he's super powerful, it also turns him into the Red Skull. Well, the scientist that helped defected to America to help them.

That's where Rogers (Evans/Captain America) comes in. Scientist overhears Rogers story  and opts to enlist him due to his heart, not his size. They soon convince others that Rogers is the perfect candidate and that's where the story gets rolling.

There really aren't any twists or turns, it's rather straight forward, and in my opinion, ends abruptly. Right when things hit full swing, it seems that the final act is nearly over. I honestly wanted maybe another 20 minutes of Captain America going America all over their asses. Oh well though, they say that great things leave you wanting more.

One quick thing, I hope this propels Hayley Atwell into the mainstream. She was amazing in Pillars of the Earth and great in this. She's adorable and has a sort of charisma about her that brings class and sexy, very similar to Kate Winslet or Rachel Weisz.

Overall, it was 8-8.5/10. I definitely want to see it again. I'm not sure if Kids will love it, since it is a bit slow action wise, but I for one enjoyed it immensely.
