Wilfred kinda rocks.
Let me start off by saying that I love awkward comedy. It's one of my favs. Stuff like The Office UK, Louie and Life and Times of Tim have always had a place in my heart. They way the tension builds and makes you feel uncomfortable. That stuff gets me laughing, even so much that i try to create my own awkward tension. Other people hate it, but I don't care.
This is where Wilfred comes in. The show is about Elijah Wood wanting to kill himself, he can't do it, then starts seeing his neighbors dog as a person dressed as a dog. Sound silly? Well it is. While developing a bond with this talking dog, Wood goes more and more insane as Wilfred starts giving off a Son of Sam vibe, dictating what he does, causing mischief.
Overall episode one was pretty good, it had some awkward moments and some genuinely funny moments. It has room for improvement and I have somewhat high hopes for it. Wood and his epic beard and a human dressed like a dog. Good stuff.
